VELOCITY HOCKEY ACADEMY JOINING JUNIOR PROSPECTS HOCKEY LEAGUE for 2026-2027

MONTREAL, QC - Velocity Hockey Academy is thrilled to announce that we will be competing in the Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) in the 2026-2027 season. We are proud to be the first program in Quebec to commit to this outstanding league.

The JPHL has quickly established itself as one of North America’s most forward-thinking AAA development leagues. Based in Western Canada, the league brings together organizations from multiple regions and provides a modern, athlete-centered environment designed to support elite player development and high-level competition.

“The opportunity to join the JPHL could not have come at a better time for our program,” said VHA Program Director, Ryan Handfield. “We are constantly pushing the envelope to find ways to challenge our players while giving the best possible experience. The JPHL is top notch in everything that they do. They have done a phenomenal job growing in Western Canada. They are highly respected, deliver an incredible gameday experience and are clearly giving their players a tremendous opportunity to grow and progress to the next level. To be the first Quebec program to be officially among the league’s ranks is an honour, and we can’t wait to expose our players to all the great things that the JPHL has to offer. Our players and staff cannot wait to participate in the JPHL’s first-rate events over the course of the coming season.”

Velocity Hockey Academy’s primary focus remains on developing our athletes so that they can achieve their goals – whatever they may be – in hockey, academics and beyond. Participating in the JPHL means that we can offer our players something truly unique in the Montreal area. Our players will now be playing in some of the most important hockey hotbeds in North America – Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia in Canada, along with Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York in the United States. VHA is prepared to put our athletes in a position where they can showcase their abilities across our great nation as well as south of the border.

As recruitment is well underway for next season, we invite players born between 2008 and 2011 inclusively with strong work ethic, positive attitudes and a hunger to improve to reach out to us to learn more about the program and what we have to offer. Interested parties can click here to register for our Player Evaluations, taking place on March 29th at our home rink, Sportplexe Pierrefonds.
